I feel revived by the excitement of Las Vegas and by the
magnificence of the Bellagio Hotel and by Lago Bellagio-the man-made, 8.5-acre
lake that surrounds it.
There is a water show in Lago Bellagio that never ceases to take my breath away.
At times, water shoots up over 100 feet into the air. Lago Bellagio is
surrounded with shops and restaurants that equal the beauty of any place that I
have been in Italy. They are amazingly authentic and I felt compelled to capture
them in this painting.
The Italian-flavored resort-casino, the Bellagio Hotel, on the infamous Las
Vegas Strip captures the romantic symbolism and the classical imagery of Italy.
Magnificent living plants, flowers, and interior gardens have been integrated
into the hotel's decor. They provide a soothing, sanctuary-like atmosphere.
I particularly loved adding my own technique to the actual appearance of the
place. I wanted this work to be a study in the contrast between cool and warm
colors, and I feel that I achieved that in its creation.
