Theo Fabergé has created The Alexandrite Pendant from a
unique combination of gemstones. The Phoenix with a mother-of-pearl breast,
set with an alexandrite heart, sapphire eyes all against 18 carat gold are
complemented by 50 'brilliant cut' diamonds and 18 carat white gold of the
wings. It is detailed with a branch of eight faceted cabochon rubies. (The
alexandrite gemstones were named after Alexander II of Russia while heir to
the throne).
