"Millennium Fountain Egg"

A hand-painted cerulean blue porcelain Egg is mounted on a vermeil pedestal originally turned on Theo Fabergé's Holtzapffel lathe, and set with some 250 precious stones. Exquisite raised motifs illustrate the passing of time and the sunrise, and a fountain of light crowns the finial.
On opening, the surprise: a glittering fountain of aquamarines rises from the midst of sculpted heraldic dolphins, set in a pond of mouth-blown, hand-cut glass. Look beneath the pond, to find Theo Fabergé's last surprise and wish for the new Millennium!
